I think I can help you with the shoulder..

1 - I think the deltoid muscle would overlap this, the circled line now makes the arm 'start' in an awkwardly early place, the arm itself being an impossible length/position relative to his body and such (short) and the arm looks to be missing an elbow!
2 - i think 2 only looks wrong because of 1 being a little off
..it's adorable though! And feel free to delete this comment if you think it's wrong or whatever, but it sounded like you were frustrated abotu the shoulder.
