It was kind of intimidating to start to draw dragonborn after drawing mostly humanoids previously. But bg3 provided some excellent reference material so I was finally able to bring my d&d oc to life!
Apaan is the cleric (to Lliira) I'm playing for a Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign. It's really interesting playing a generally pacifistic character in what is considered a bit of a meatgrinder setting. Apaan has almost died a handful of times, but its been very good food 😂
This was my first major attempt at drawing Apaan (after doing a lot of practice sketching and sculpting). But I was really driven to make this after having a very dangerous encounter with an ancient white dragon. For reference, the party was under leveled to did not stand a chance. The idea was that we were supposed to run away, but here's the thing. Apaan is way way slower than the rest of the party. And the dice were OUT FOR BLOOD. Realistically Apaan should have died. But IMO, sometimes having a character just die randomly (IE, to a random encounter) is way less narratively interesting than having a character nearly die and be forever haunted by the horrors as a result.
I don't know if we're ever going to encounter this white dragon again (maybe?), but you can bet this boyo's going to be rolling at disadvantage for EVERYTHING.
