Ehh, some people suffer in silence. I think I read that about one-fourth of all people with depression don't show any outward signs.

Sometimes people may not realise that they have depression. It builds up slowly over time, it's not a sudden change, so they may take a while to notice it.

Sadly even then many people refuse to speak out or accept help.

Talking helps. You don't necessarily have to talk about depression. Just having someone to talk to and draw your mind towards something positive helps.
