I've always wondered what would it feel like to run out of magic. Since magic is often tied to intelligence or wisdom, I think it mage running low would have a hard time thinking straight
By that logic, I'm curious what drinking a mana potion would be like. Similar to the lightheadedness of downing a double espresso when you're drowsy, and suddenly your mind kicks back to full alertness?
In my Nevernoon writing universe, it causes you to suddenly get very hungry and thirsty, since when you run out of mana, the spell draws the deficit in energy from your body.
That also makes sense. I've read a few stories where mages and spellcasters have to eat three times the amount of food as others due to all the energy/calories they burn using their powers.
