It’s been a while since the last time I drew something related to Naruto, haven’t been interested on the franchise for over a decade and, being honest, I wasn’t interested on it for too long back in the day hence why I changed my account back then and created a new, unrelated, username. I don’t think I’ll draw something else about it any time soon, but who knows I might be wrong, maybe another remake rather than something new.



Anyway, what motivated this picture was the need, perhaps even urge, I had of doing a remake of the very first digital work I managed to finish and post: this one, I remember how hard it was for me to get used to PS’ tools and particularly how hard it was to make the lineart, believe me, you don’t want to know how I did the lines of that one haha xD (And almost all the drawings I made in 2009 hahaha xD) Every time I remember that I just get reminded of how much I struggled to get it done right, even though I knew it didn’t look right but I tried, I guess xD



About the picture: I actually started sketching it in 2023, was very rough until June 2024, when I started coloring and texturing it. It’s Kurama, the nine-tailed fox from Naruto, but chibi, I know I called it Kyuubi on the old one, I didn’t quite know the difference between Bijuu and Jinchuriki back in the day so please don’t judge haha xD As I started coloring I realized that I did some things wrong on the old one like the eye color, I think I made them blue to contrast with the fur by logic, something that it’s not actually wrong and that I’d learn later while majoring Graphic Design but the original design has red eyes, they serve different purpose than that of contrast; and of course, the tails, I gave them a lighter color on the tips because foxes do have them, Kurama, on the other hand, doesn’t, so I fixed all that on this one.



I chose Semi realistic over Flat Shaded because Semi Real is, basically, the “final form” (x’D) of my style and so making it a bigger contrast between the first picture and this one: the best I could do back then vs. the best I can do now. This was also the best time to do a Semi realistic chibi, has been a while since the last time I did one (This), showing that I can successfully do one was also something I wanted to do for a while, it wasn’t too difficult actually, it all flowed naturally with this one x3

Also, launching new logo! This logo will be present on personal works from now on, just to distinguish them from commissions. I originally designed it while majoring Graphic Design, I redid it now for this, it still represents what I do: just as the popular belief that chameleons can “blend” with its surroundings, as if “changing forms” (They don’t do exactly that, but we aren’t talking about it lol) I usually tend to work on different styles, referring both coloring and/or art style, of course I do have my own style that’s easy to spot if you check my galleries, but I can change it or use another if necessary, I like it, it’s nice to try other styles or even develop them if the need arises.



2009 vs. 2024, it’s been a long road, isn’t it? Which one wore it best? LOL xD
