Another headshot practice with some fun experimental stuff in it. So with this piece I wanted to go for a bit of a snooty looking disdainfully over the should at you type of pose but don't think I really pulled that off. But what I did pull off here was definitely the hair and the fur tufts. So I wanted to do some experimentation with different hair types, not just styles, so I went with curly hair for this girl and think it came out quite well, now it could have been a lot better but as it stands its fines. I also experimented a bit with fur tufts, so I did the same thing I did in my last piece with the fur tufts in the ear and just moved that technique to some other area's. To be specific I tried doing some on the jaw line to better denote it without having to place a line along it and I tried it in the hair to give the hair more 3 dimensional depths. Now I think I need to work a bit more with getting depth in hair but it did work ok there, the face though I think it really worked so I'll definitely try doing that a bit more. The overall shading is ok, once again I ended up falling behind on my work this time because of the American election (which as an American I made sure I voted in and tried to stay up to date with the results as they came in) but this did result in me half assing the shading. The shading is by no means terrible there's still 3 shade tones and 2 highlight tones its just that I didn't apply my shading as well as I should have and that had some lack luster results in the end. I did the rim lighting on the edges of this character again and am really starting to like the results I get from doing it, of course I need to remember not every piece needs rim lighting but when a piece does I do like the results I'm capable of getting.

I'm gonna finish up this week doing more headshot practices, hopefully 1 per day up to and including Saturday, then I'm gonna move on to some anatomy stuff. For the anatomy stuff I really want to focus more on getting musculature down so I'll be drawing nude figures again but this time the poses probably wont be as sexy. Also for those few, if any, of you who liked my comics and are waiting for me to make more of them don't worry I still plan on making more comics I just want to make sure I'm actually skilled enough to do the comics justice when I start making them again.
