Back when we first moved out here Boss was the first cat that ever came up to me. He was feral and mean but he knew the people that had lived here before I guess. So we fed him, and then it started becoming a thing.

I hate that feral cats and outside cats are such a common thing. It's a real problem where I am, people just don't care. There are too many threats to them, and people are a big threat. I took this picture and realized that he had been injured, there was a big hole in the side of his jaw that either came from another animal or from someone hurting him.

One of my neighbors was taking care of the wound. But we haven't seen him in months and we both think he's gone. Since then I've started taking in some kittens that I find around and their mama's and there is a rescue that has been able to take a couple of them here and there. It's rough finding cats good homes. I really just hate the way people treat them. Someone will see a stray dog and lose their minds but stray cats has just been a 'eh' thing for most.

(I love dogs and I don't want to see them suffer either so I also lose my mind when I see them but like. I don't know. The point I'm trying to make is that people more commonly will see a dog wandering around and be like well you just don't belong out here buddy.)

Anyway it's six am and I have many thoughts on how shitty people are to animals in general. I'm sorry I couldn't do much of anything for you boss, you were mean as hell but it wasn't your fault that you were left to wander.
