This piece was coming out alright and then boom halfway through shading I realised I hadn't done the eyes, started working on them and had the realisation that the whole thing is lopsided and no matter what I did to the eyes they would always end up looking slightly off. My only solution at that point would be to commit to a full restart of the entire piece, which I frankly wasn't going to do at that point, I was several hours in and it was only a practice piece so I made the decision to just get something that almost worked and post it as is. As a result the shading isn't really finished. It's really annoying to be honest and I did try for over an hour to find a way to fix it without a full restart and couldn't. This is going to be another learning moment for me, I have to check for lopsidedness early and frequently so I don't end up in situations where several hours worth of work is wasted. Other then being lopsided this piece is fairly ok, I wanted to go with a bit of an annoyed expression hence the ear bent slightly, I was gonna add marks around it to indicate it was twitching but at this point I just wanna move onto another piece. There's not much else to say on this piece, I like the hair and I feel like I'm starting to get a good system working for hair. There's 2 shade tones, although not applied as well as I'd like and 2 highlight tones. My only other remark I guess would be on the inner ear fluff which I think I did a good job on, it uses all 4 of my shade and highlight tones to convey the fluff without the need for lines in that region.
