I haven’t consumed much furry media since my last tier list, but I promised I’d make a new one this weekend. So…. Sorry for the lack of new stuff.
New additions:
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarrion, A tier
Aggretsuko, B Tier
BNA: Brand New Animal, B tier
Sprit: I haven’t seen this one in a while, but I remember it being really good. Matt Damon was a weird choose for narrator, but he was skilled and brought spirit personality. One of the most important aspects of an animated character is its voice actor. Sprit still used 2D animation, which is pretty respectable due to 2D being pretty much dead in the early 2000s. If you ask me, Dreamworks was pretty much 2D animations Last Stand. Before they had to switch. I really hate Disney for convincing everyone that 2D is box office poison. As for the furry stuff, it’s feral animals, instead of anthro, which prevents a S tier rating. Still pretty good though, and We can still understand how they feel through their facial expressions, which is one of the main aspects of furry art style. It’s A solid A.
Aggretusko: I thought this one was fine. Definitely shouldn’t be in the same tier as MLP, but I feel it doesn’t deserve to be in C tier along side Helluva-Freakin’-Boss. I loved the simple animation, like I said in my last tier list, style is the most important aspect when it comes to animating furry characters and Anthros. It’s simple, The animals are diverse, it’s not just wolfs, foxes, and canines Copy and pasted everywhere. There’s actual diversity, which should be taken advantage of for something as broad as anthropomorphic characters. I enjoyed the story, it’s not amazing, but i still enjoyed it. I give it a B, but like a 80%, right in the line between Ok and Good. Versus MLP, which is like a 89%.
BNA: I didn’t enjoy this one. I thought the Pacing was too quick, there were too many plot points established in The first episode and I couldn’t keep up. But just because I don’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s bad. The story is really unique. I like the concept of a world where anthropomorphic animals and humans live in the same Universe, but are segregated due to species issues, tensions, war and such. I liked the animation, it felt really flashy and reminded me of those old colorful animes from the 80s and 90s. Like Astro boy, one of my child favorites, modernized, of course. And The main protagonist is alright, trying to hide from human oppression and all that. However, like I said, its pacing could use some slowing down, and not disorientate the audience, but that’s just me, maybe everyone else understands better than me, but idk. I give BNA like an B, B+? Not sure.
