LEARN STUFF.
1. The Billy Goat Tavern - Underneath the bridge in Chicago. Parodied by Saturday Night Live and where my parents went to eat after my dad proposed to my mom in the center ontop of the bridge.
The first owner of the tavern was an old hungarian gypsy. He had a pet goat, and always took the goat with him to the Cubs games that played. One day an official wouldn't let him go because of the goat, so the man cast a curse that the future generations of the Cubs would never win a game. Soon, the Cubs started loosing, and people soon believed his curse was real. They begged him to lift the curse, but he did not. The Cubs have never gotten into the World Series since.
2. Symbol for Earth - I love this symbol, and it's started to reoccur a little more often in my work.
3. Vitner's Potato Chips - My most favorite chips EVER from Chicago. They only sell them up there, and aren't too big, but they are DELICIOUS. They sell only these chips in the Tavern (which is how I was introduced to them) and Vitner's is a rival of my mom's favorite chips, Jay's.
4. Marines Symbol + Semper Fidelis - My father was in the Marines, and I have always been proud of that. The Marines are almost the best military force we have and what they did to protect our country during the Pacific War is so inspiring.
5. Eat Me Confet + Drink Me Bottle - I LOVE Alice in Wonderland. I've been obsessed over it for so long. I have the books, the movies (disney & not disney) and the American McGee's Alice videogame. I. Love. Alice. In. Wonderland.
6. Nintendo Logo + Gamer Girl - I am an extreme gamer. I've been playing videogames since I was five, and only on Nintendo consoles. I am a Nintendo supporter and have played almost every console and handheld they have ever sold. NES, Nintendo 64, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gamecube, Nintendo DS, and the Wii. I will always be loyal to Nintendo, because it was Nintendo that brought me into the world of videogames.
7. Hoosier - Simple. My whole family is from Indiana. I myself am not from there, but it doesn't matter. Indiana is my second home.
8. Mushroom - Mario games are the ones that have dominated my life. Even today I can settle down with an old copy of Super Mario 64 or Mario Kart and have a blast. But don't worry, I've played others. From Mischeif Makers and Iggy's Wreckin' Balls to Starfox and James Bond and Zelda. Metroid and Diddy Kong Racing and Resident Evil and Pokemon. And let's not forget Banjo Kazooie & Tooie. All of those games are amazing.
8. Heart + Spade - Another Alice one. But more for AMA than the norm. I love American McGee's Alice. It has opened my mind to so many ideas and new ways of seeing things. It's such an awesome game to play, not matter what the graphics are like. I'd have to admit my favorite parts were Behind the Looking Glass, Burning Curiosity, Hollow Hideaway with the Duchess and the mechanisims in Queensland.
9. Miss You Grandpa - My grandfather had died last year right after thanksgiving, and ever since I never realized he would never be with me again till I had to construct a mural for him. I hope he's alright in heaven, and that bottle of wine we gave him is lasting pretty good. ;3
10. Eyeball Halo - I don't know why I have this, but it's just so cool. And it moves on its own. It reminds me of Mad Monster Mansion every time I doodle it. And how awesome is that f it reminds you of an awesome level in an awesome videogame?
Don't steal me or my halo plz. :3
