My buddy  BenSullicoot and I have dabbled with the concept of AUs for our characters in the past, and not too long ago another idea came to me- Roleswap, an AU where conventional roles and character morality are swapped. If you've been following Ben and my content for a while, then you know that my sona is a magical thief while his is a keyblade warrior, so I thought about what that would look like the other way around, and while I was at it I drew characters that are normally enemies as these versions of our sona's closest friends. I drew Kat as a lion to expand upon a concept in KH to make Sora a lion with a chainsaw sword, and I also gave him a Chain of Memory card behind his ear, the card was given to him by a mysterious man with pink hair and a large scythe, and it activates Kat's special attack, which is odd since the rest of Kat's attacks don't require cards to work. Kat also wields his trusty Keyblade- Thundering Omen to battle, and quickly became friends with a sabertooth catman named Grune, who actually stayed loyal to King Claudus while Panthro was the one to betray the king for his own selfish goals, very unlike their base counterparts. For Ben, I modeled him after Sly Cooper since he told me that was a thief character he enjoyed, and I also gave Ben a mask reminiscent of Bandit Heeler's fur pattern, as well as a cane that is actuallly a hidden blade, though the cane itself is made of a sturdy material and Ben often uses it to help him get around. While Ben would form a kinship with Sulley as his base counterpart, this version of Ben found kinship with Johnny Worthington III, who eventually found a name for himself providing power to Monsters Inc, even after this universe's version of Sulley spread malicious rumors about Johnny and eventually caused Johnny's expulsion from Monsters University. I had fun working on these designs though who knows? This might not be the last time you see this AU.
