Coming from a family of immigrants, Kylestin never really fitted in to her society. At least, not to other humans. Her darker tan skin made her stand out a bit, and she noticed she was being treated different than her peers, her glasses, her tall and lanky figure and the unfashionable mismatching clothes that came with it didn't do her any favours either. It was almost as if people saw her as nothing human to begin with. But when she met her boyfriend (and later husband) Solnan, she got in touch with a whole group of non-humans. She found that their experiences with humans are quite similar to hers, and felt a much stronger kinship with them than with other humans. At times, she wished she could be one of them, even though she very well knows that would be impossible...

... but that doesn't stop her from dreaming about that. From time to time, she dreams that she is a beautiful Arabian centaur, a special kind with a human face instead of the snout other centaurs have. Dressed up in exotic clothing that seemed to have come straight from Arabian fairy tales. She would be together with an equally exotically dressed Solnan, finally matching his form as his equal. The two of them would dance affectionately all night in exotic places, even in the clouds of the heavens themselves. And she would hear music, fragments of songs she knew all woven together into something she couldn't recognise, but sounded heavenly. It was bliss, it was pure ecstasy...

But it's only a dream... though... every night she had that dream, she can vividly remember it... and every time it would make her a little happier inside...

This illustration was drawn as a YCH by the wonderful  reigohoo ! Kylestin looks great as a centaur, and I really like what the artist did with the clothing design. They really do look like they stepped right out of a fairy tale...
