It's baby bird season!
Today was my first shift working in the nursery at the wild bird rescue. It was certainly different from the work I've been doing with the adult birds since October! A five hour shift just flies when you're constantly feeding, cleaning, and then doing it all over again!
While many bird babies know when they're full and will stop gaping, the common grackle chick will SCREAM and gape at you like it's starving no matter what. We have a LOT of grackles.

Reminds me of our little Howard, who had his first birthday a few weeks ago. He's a starling, but it's pretty much exactly that. Food, all the time. Food. The worst was that he was constantly making at least quiet squawking noises, he'd just get louder and speed up the more hungry he was.
we have great tailed grackles here, when they're adolescents and are able to fly around they still chase they're parents begging for food. It's like those irritating kids in super markets that the parents just seem to ignore and buy them more stuff the louder and annoying they get. XD
Oh gaaaaawd. Grackles. With as noisy as the adults are, I can't imagine a little baby bird.
Since you're a bird fan I shall share my interesting story from today.
Today, while driving, we saw two bluejays beat the dog snot out of a Hawk. And not a small Hawk. o.o It was amazing to watch, and eventually the Hawk ran away.
Blue Jays, while beautiful, are territorial little psycho birds x3
