For day 30 of Monster Month I drew Maxxor from Chaotic, one of my favorite shows growing up. Chaotic was unlike other monster series, rather than simply finding monsters out in the wild and commanding them, kids could go into simulated battles where they became the monsters. There were other ways chaotic was unlike other shows as well, like there was a split between the real world, chaotic (the high-tech hub where all the holograms and virtual reality battledromes are, not the card game of the same name) and Perim, the fantasy world where all the creatures depicted in the cards originate from. I think another reason I like this series is a lot went into it, the characters can scan creatures in Perim to use them in Chaotic battles, but the condition the creature is in is important, so scanning a creature with a cold can have some disastrous effects when you try to fight as that creature, there was lore and backstories for certain creatures, and most importantly it did the main thing a series about a card game is supposed to do, it makes the card game look awesome! I just hope they bring it back someday; I keep hearing rumors that chaotic will come back at some point, and I'd love to see it happen, this show certainly came a long way since the original do or die cards.
