Techniques for texturing, you mean? You'd have to look up some more specific tutorials, depending on the software you're using. There should be plenty on dA or other art sites. In theory, though, any texture can be recreated by just drawing loads of lines and/or dots, with a simple round brush. So the important part isn't really the technique, but the theoretical knowledge of how exactly something should look. Don't be afraid to check out and learn from some reference pictures, whenever you're trying to do something you don't have much experience with. ( Which goes for all kinds of things, not just textures. )
That makes sense. I use photoshop and i dotn realy use any of its tools, i use only 2 types of brush, the regular round brush with 0-100 hardness and the brush #19 thats there, that has a special fade effect sort of. Which is a bit obviouse on my drawings haha. But i guess you're right, i need to stop bein lazy and look at refferences of the thing sim trying to draw. Thanks for taking your time and answering my questions btw <3. Most artists of your level aparently preffer to ignore everything and just go on abotu their business >.>. <3 meep =3
Simple brushes are good - Fancy effects and custom brushes can be useful, but it's good if you're not too dependant on them.
And yeah, I try to reply to most comments, at least when people have a question. You really can't blame some of the more popular artists for not replying much, though - They probably just have a ton of messages to look through, in addition to generally being very busy.

I got distracted by a side project a friend asked me to do, and by the fact that i suck at humans a lot less than first expected, so it kinda lowered the priority of it all :P
When i get rid of my commish queue i will continue to work on building a portfolio (meaning, mostly human-centric work) through all the summer (and opening a deviantart account to store it).
Right now i'm refocusing a bit on inking and applying what i learned with painting to line drawing, which btw means i'm quite open to more collabs ;)

Hah hah, yeah, I have yet to see you suck at anything. ( No pun intended. ... OK, maybe there is. )
Give me a poke, if and when you get your dA account. I enjoy pretty much everything you post, but I'm quite curious about more "clean" and/or human art from you.
And it's interesting how certain aspects of painting can teach you things about lineart, and visa versa, isn't it?
>"which btw means i'm quite open to more collabs ;)"
Are you subtly hinting at anything? XD I'm already working on various paintings, so normally I wouldn't make plans for any collabs etc. at this time - However, I think I'd be quite willing to make an exception for you. :P That last collab is still one of the best things I've worked on this year. If you're serious about it, send me a note. What did you have in mind, anyway? I'd still be interested in doing some clean(ish) Fantasy art. Some sexy lady and a minotaur, or other beast, perhaps?
