Nathan is a native Roman (i.e. this world's equivalent of Italy, yup Rome is still an existing country in this timeline), and speaks in his native tongue when he has visions.

Latin-Romanis is a fantasy mix of Latin and Italian language (just like Germaine, which is a mix of French, German & Slavic). With some completely made-up words thrown in. For thos who remember Rico waaaay back in the beginning, he too is originally from Rome, hence why he prayed in Latin.
