An earth god (detail from piece "out to play")
Yeah I know he's not really an furry but the piece itself has and will have animals and spirit animals. :D
I'm a college alumni and I'm HOPING that the theme show at my college will revolve around the end of the world/ apocalypse thing because of the myth of 2012 being the reset of the mayan calender. Well if so I started early because I've had this piece stuck in my head for a while and had to get it out.
It's called "Out to play". It's a really tall and narrow. Vertical panoramic piece with gaia at the time with nature live and the bottom is an abstracted city and power plants. The idea of the piece is based on the abundance of natural disasters we've been having so it basically represents... Gaia being pissed at allowing her children to run a muck. There are four "gods"... wind/ tornado (owl), fire/ drought (salamander), earth/ earthquakes (desert fox), and water/ tsunami (koi). Each god has a spirit animal and is inspired by a different nationality/ race. (One) because it's COOL and wanted to feature a variety people and (two) these events effect us ALL. Now I didn't specifically match the events two the nationality or race. We are all people I'm an advocate for equality and also the events are hitting all of us even though many of them are going unreported.
