This is an old photo I had lying around on the hard drive that I took YEARS ago when I worked the night shift at a hotel back in Dallas Texas.
The weather turned out very rainy (as it does) and in the morning when I went out to the underground garage to hop in the car to leave, I saw several dark masses in the corners of the garage moving around. On closer inspection, this was what it was.
June bugs. Bajillions of 'em.

I always find those things dead in pools or face planting walls.
Kinda reminds me of the moth invasion I saw back in up state New York the next morning there were piles of them at every out door light, and four, one foot tall, piles of them at the local gas station one for each light.
kinda glad I live where I live where the only real bug infestation are snails every time it rains, which isn't often.

At least yours is a little infestation. Back when I was little, our house got caught in the middle of a caterpillar migration.
Yes, some caterpillars will travel great distances before becoming butterflies.
So one side of our house was literally black and yellow and -moving-.
Now I like those fuzzy little shits as much as the next lover of cute fuzzy things, but that was INSANE.
Now a days we don't get much in the way of bug infestations. The odd June bug I see is almost the size of my hand and running away from me as I stare in amazement. In the late summer we get a crap ton of water beetles (BIG black shelled beetles, strong as hell, with flipper like front legs), and all year round we get larder beetles in the house (looks like spruce beetles but with brown dots on the shell and they can't climb).

Yes, they do.
I had a lawn treatment specialist come by. He told me my lawn was in horrible shape and demonstrated by grabbing a random patch of it and pulling. It peeled back like a carpet and there 5 june bug maggots curled up in there. Repeat, repeat in random spots, they were all over.
Apparently it's possible to spray nematodes and they'll kill them, and I've requested that service but they haven't called back. So. Yeah, hope the birds eat them in the meantime.

They don't bother me that much at all, so don't worry with what other say or feel on it. But.. well they are kind of the retarded cousins of the beetle world, and they are basically like sniper bullets. Just walking along and POK. Right in the head.
But aside from just annoyance like that, they're just bugs. Hell, when I was little I used to sift through the firewood pile in the front yard and play with the Bessie Bugs I'd find.
