Yes, those are weird compound eyes on the sides of their heads. If you are making beasts designed to be fighters (be it genetic engineering or demonic magic), having them see in a full 360 degree view might be helpful! You can tell their rank by their horns: The fellow in the center has 3 pairs, so is in command. The female furthest from us has 2 pair, then the male closest has a single pair. I suppose there could be an even lower rank without any horns yet.
