Reyna Shows Val Sky'za the World
Story blurb written by
fateslover:
While Val Sky'za was no stranger to being larger than her natural size at times, this was far beyond her expectations. The very planet she is meant to help protect was now comparatively small enough to sit in the palm of her hand. She knew that the planet was safe in her grasp, but it was still stunning to be this large. Especially considering even with Zen mode, there were plenty of far larger titans than she normally was otherwise.
"It is beautiful, isn't it? The world, so full of life, and yet, also so small in your grasp." Reyna says, putting a hand on Val's shoulder, and gesturing to the large ball of life with her other hand. She was the one who helped Val grow to this size from sharing her own immense power with the Skymin warrior.
"I-Indeed. I never realized how small and...precious, it could appear." She replies, awe focusing her attention on the planet she held right now.
"Sometimes, it's good to get a larger perspective, and understand the gravity of what you fight to protect. In our case, it's something we can quite literally do!" Reyna explains with a slight giggle.
"I see. I thank you for this opportunity." Val Sky'za says. It helped harden her resolve to protect this world. She'd be shrunk down later, but for now, she wants to take it all in. To make sure she remembers this moment, as she won't be able to become this large on her own again.
Of course, Reyna might just leave all the power she gave the warrior with her. After all, as the Goddess of Divinity, she has more than plenty to spare. What's wrong with giving a little blessing to a friend anyway?
A lovely project FatesLover had me do featuring their Goddess Reyna and my own Sky Form Shaymin, Val Sky’za! I feel a lot more confident in my skills to do complex outfits like this since my last picture. And of course I’m happy to provide my talent for planet details! >3>
I’ve grown to appreciate that people like asking me to do pictures like this because it can be kinda hard to find an artist willing to do so many details while still having good attention to detail.
This picture also makes use of one pass shading compared to the traditional two passes. I feel it made the blacks a little too strong, especially on Val Sky’za’s chest, but that is something more likely to happen I think with this style of shading.
Done as a sketch on paper, scanned in, and painted in Photoshop CS5.
