This engine, 'Lyd' was built at Boston Lodge as recently as 2010, to the same design as the 2-6-2T's originally built by Manning Wardle, of Leeds for the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, in Devon. The main contradiction is the difference in shape of the cab. Otherwise, it would not fit through the Ffestiniog Railway's tunnels or bridges.
Just down the coast at the Fairbourne Railway, there is a half-size copy of the same type of engine. But that's another story.
