Job Search Tip 79 Remix: Time for a Change in Scope?
This can be tough. Expanding the scope of your job search may mean a longer commute, having to relocate, making less money, or doing work that you are not interested in. Sometimes that is what it takes to maintain your food and shelter.
This tip is coming from seeing frustrated job searchers who are in an impossible situation because their search scope is so narrow. Remote work has come a long way, but you might have to leave your small town to do the specialized work you are interested in.
Sometimes good can come from expanding your scope. I never thought I would be working in my current industry when I started my first job search after graduate school, but a global pandemic and a strong desire to leave New Orleans will make a person do unexpected things...
