There were some good finds at the flea market during the Fall Family Days Festival this year. Fortunately, Rocket didn't get any fleas.

Ours were 'All wood', sat on a single metal skid/pole(s) (One for our seat, the second for the desk), and had that top that you raised (Where students USED to be able to store all their books/supplies, instead of lugging them around on their backs!). Usually adorned with graffiti, I suppose ONE of the benefits of Catholic Schooling was our desk tops were almost always unmarred (Much easier when writing on a piece of paper lying across the surface!).
We'd shove 'em all to the walls for 'Nap time' (In the earliest years of schooling), unroll our little mats, and snooze (Or pretend to!).
Man, talk about a FLOOD of memories!)
Now, the Corporal Punishment/Paddling? THAT, I could do without! (Not saying I didn't EARN (Most of) them, but still!)
