Every year during the last week of September, the entirety of Sunwind Island celebrates the Harvest Festival. This wide-scale celebration is among the biggest and most important events on the island, as farming, gardening and craftsmanship are the pillars of the culture of Sunwind. No matter where you go, you are likely to find some sort of festival related activity and even small, quiet villages become centers of attention for the week. As the harvest festival correlates with the start of autumn, you will of course see pumpkins, mushrooms and a whole symphony of orange, red and brown colors. For many people the most important destination is Pumpkinton and its scenic village street, where people can a taste of Sunwind Island’s treasures in form of both the fruits of its natural resources but also a multitude of locally crafted products such as hand-made clothes, decorations and even pieces of art. On top of that, visitors can also experience Sunwindian hospitality in cozy cafes and makeshift eateries.
Sunwind Island isn’t the only place celebrating the harvest season. People of the Fae Forest engage in similar traditions, albeit with more focus on the coming of autumn. While they have their own festivities, many people from the forest visit Sunwind Island during the festival, using their network of Faerie Rings to travel there. Some even set up shop, giving people a rare opportunity to obtain goods from the Fae Forest, directly from the source.
