The frustrated, royal zafara continued to frantically search about for any sign of the uniformed neopets who had carried off her friend, but no signs could be found.
“They must’ve had a human helping them,” she said with a low, sad tone. “There’s no way those guys could’ve all disappeared so quickly without the aid of the Neopets Portal.”
Despite being unsuccessful in coming to the poor, Green zafara’s rescue, Zarra knew exactly where they were taking him. She didn’t even need to look at the card the grarrl had handed her in his rush to get outside with his colleagues. Unfortunately, Neopia Central was quite a distance away from Roo Island without the aid of the Neopets Portal and it was definitely far too late for her to travel the distance while supporting a grumpy and upset baby all the way.
“Well, little guy,” she said while she cradled Caldma to protect him from the gusting wind. “There’s nothing more we can do here. How’s about we head home and wait for our human to come along to see if he might be able to help us? His access to the Neopets Portal is our best bet for saving our new friend.”

“How can you guys do this?” asked DB in a way that showed how hurt he was that his own, fellow neopets were hauling him back to the place he had desperately tried to escape.
The two neopets who were holding him came to a stop in front of the large door that lead into the Neopian Pound before one of them said, “We’re just doing our job.”
With disbelief, DB asked, “How can you say that? It’s not like I chose to wind up here! A human neglected me and abandoned me here and took everything I held dear for their own!”
The two neopets stood calm as they took in what the scruffy zafara had to say. He would’ve been on quite a roll if he hadn’t suddenly burst out into another rage of fierce coughing.
A well-dressed wocky and his human companion walked over to where DB was being held.
“Looks like we completed another job, Scruff276,” the human said with a smile as he took a small bag of neopoints from a crazed-looking techo. “I do believe it is time for us to see what we can swipe from that Snowager before it wakes up from its 6:00 AM nap.”

The human opened the Neopets Portal before gesturing to his wocky companion to join him in transporting themselves from Neopia Central to Happy Valley.
Have you forgotten your debts, Deathblade?” cackled the techo. “You know you cannot leave the pound without your debts having been paid in full.”
“They’re not my debts!” DB spat before letting loose a couple of coughs. “I didn’t make them!”
A pink uni gently made her way out and approached the distressed, green zafara.
“Oh, Deathblade,” she said with a beyond belief tone of concern. “I’m sorry to hear that cough is getting worse.”
“…,” DB was going to say something, but his coughing only continued to persist.
“It looks like someone got all sick when they ran off,” the uni remarked. “You need to come inside and get back in your comfy room so your body can start fighting that cold off.”
“My room?” inquired DB with disbelief. “You call that cement floored, barred door, poor excuse for a habitat a room?”
The uni seemed unaffected by his remarks as she let out a merry neigh and said, “Please bring Deathblade back in quickly, my friends. He is getting all confused as a result of being out in this terrible weather for so long. We got to get him comfy and better again fast.”
The ixi and acara nodded and proceeded to drag the coughing, Green zafara into the Neopian Pound.
“Shall I prepare the medicine?” inquired the crazed techo as he faced the wide-eyed uni.
She nodded and replied, “Yes, we must make him feel better soon. We need happy faces in the Neopian Pound. Without them, I fear no human would ever consider adopting those in our care.”
“I’m on it,” cackled the Techo before skittering back into the pound.
