So Ragnar was a fey weretiger that came to the mortal realm long ago. Mainly for fun, sex, and booze!
There is even a legend that he increased the population of a city by 1% because of his wild antics.
When the Golden Dragon( Noble Dragon) asked for special warriors to help lead the rebellion for the humans to rebel against the human kingdoms because of their racist views of non-humans and demi-humans. Ragnar never had a last name but the Dragon bestowed the high warriors special last names. The clan names are called Heart, King, Queen, and Jack and soon created 6 branches of the Heart clan. Ragnar created the SteelHeart clan because another weretiger stole the WildHeart, and a crazy half-giant took BraveHeart.
So Ragnar created the SteelHeart clan and the dragon bestowed a vault of weapons that only those with strong will can use, and later obtained the powerful weapon called "World Key".
When a Dragon absorbed the great element of fire and started burning down villages and towns, Ragnar who finally grew up searched for powerful armor to protect him from the flames, and a special ring to help him recover while in battle. They were all forged by a god of crafting but had to allow the armor and ring to be destroyed until the Dragon was slayed. So with the help of 30 warriors and 20 healers, he left to slay the Elemental Dragon of flames. After a long battle of 2 days and nights, Ragnar and the 15 last soldiers slayed the dragon. Ragnar managed to get the last slash kept the head and finally settled down claiming he had enough adventures.
For the most part, he found a wife who could cancel the lycanthropy and bear human children. He managed to have 3 children and 2 of them left for the other Heart clans while Mark his youngest stayed as a SteelHeart and the sword "World Key" chose him to be the next bearer.
Ragnar managed to live a long 300+ years and finally, age caught up to him. When Ethan's father took the head of the family Ragnar went back to the Fey Wild and so far never heard from him again.
