Actually its a myth that tarantulas don't produce silk they actually make guidelines everywhere they roam laced with their own personal pheromones so they can tell where they've been AND they bundle their eggs in silk like all spiders do and some tarantulas silk have compounds in them that deter and ward away things like ants :3
