When did you start playing Stanley Skunk’s games?
Oh cmon, you know who Stanley Skunk is! The 90s video game mascot? Alright, since you’re gonna play dumb, let’s run through his story.
In December of 1999, Zorrocore released their hit new video game, Stanley Skunk. It was a platformer, something on the way out in the gaming scheme, but they was able to ride the crashing coattails of that wave. His game was a hit! To celebrate his success, the developers at Zorrocore spent New Years together, playing their new hit. As plans for sequels began, the clock rolled over into midnight. Fears of the Y2K Crash may have been overblown, but that’s not the case with the developers at Zorrocore. It’s not known exactly how, but after their building lost power and regained it, Stanley was standing before them.
The developers were apprehensive at first, who wouldn’t be? But as the skunk took a seat on the couch and began to play his own game, they welcomed him in with open arms.
Stanley knew everything about his development, including which developers spent a little *too* much time on his fart animations.
Stanley is the definition of happy go lucky. Nothing could ever bring his mood down. He’s always talking, even in his sleep. You’ll catch him rambling about some piece of in-game lore, or how he came to life, or how much he loves the color blue. If he’s got something to say, he’s saying it.
Today, he remains huge in the skunk community, with new and old fans alike celebrating his games, being happy to have that representation. He’s more than happy to talk to his fans, sign their game cases…or maybe indulge in another desire….
If you want to learn more about Stanley, I just posted a story featuring him :3
