no idea. my dad took his car in for an oil change and saw that while walking by the bays. looks like the engine failed, maybe ran out of oil or sludged...

Did the car run fine when he brought it in?

Did they notify him beforehand before they tore it down like that? Just curious.

no idea. in situations like that, they normally notify the customer of the cost and time of the repair. that guy probably got a loaner car 'cuz it'd be a multi day repair. The car may have been towed in.
