That's a cool idea. It's probably because his wolf powers are enhanced during the full moon. If in a normal state he is simply like a "human", then during the full moon he gains abilities that wolves have but humans do not, such as a keen sense of smell, for example.
Just an idea for superhero. I hope his uncle doesn't die after telling him that with great power comes great responsibility.
