When the explanation of the twelfth task was over, Drew went to find John. The Jackal really wished the bear didn't take offense at him and the others, for they didn't consider Kyoji an adversary who would get in their way. But John was so out of sorts that Drew almost left with bruises. Nevertheless, he tried to talk to his buddy. John was unwilling to even listen to anything at first, but the jackal gave him a little hug and the coldness began to leave the bear's heart little by little. He looked at Drew and uttered:
“I'm sorry, but friendship isn't going to work out between us. I'm too selfish and arrogant to make myself right.”
However, the jackal was sure that John would still be able to curb his impulsiveness. After all, all the remaining mustachians considered the bear to be the kindest, it was just that he wasn't used to showing kindness and asking for help, considering it a weakness.
