"Knowledge is knowing that Frankenstein is not the monster. Wisdom is knowing that Frankenstein IS the monster."
In this case Frankenstein is a Pocket Monster. It was a tough choice to decide what pokemon to make Victor Frankenstein cause he's just kinda a dude. The Lightning solution was not in the original book but it has since become synonymous with Frankenstein and his monster.
Noice how I never called him Doctor Frankenstein. Victor Frankenstein is NOT an actual Doctor. In the book he was a 19 year old College Student who dropped out sometime around his Sophomore year and created a monster in his college dorm!
This guy thought to himself "How hard could creating life be? I bet I could Play God alongside Finals." Which was his first mistake. Then when he finally created his monster he freaked out cause he got the eye color wrong despite the monster otherwise being "A Beautiful Giant Man", Abandoned his newborn Monster to the elements, swore off mad science, and then failed to take responsibility for his monster when it kills his younger brother and frames one of the servants because Victor is a arrogant jackass who can't think of how his actions affect anyone but himself and then whines about how hard his life is.
Then while sulking in the mountain the Monster himself shows up to call Victor out for how much of a terrible person he is! Another key difference that gets left out of most adaptations of Frankenstein is that the Monster is actually Intelligent and eloquent, not just a barely sentient brute. He learned how to understand the world through experimenting, taught himself to harness fire, cook his food, speak and read, and realized he is desperately lonely because his creator made him with no regard for his well being and abandoned him to a world that only knows how to hate and fear him.
The Monster reasons that Victor owes him this and asks him to make a Female Monster so he's not alone anymore otherwise the Monster will keep killing Victor's friends and loved ones. So Victor starts recreating his worst mistake but with boobs, but then has a panic attack midway through and destroys it, so the Monster makes good on his promise and murders Victor's Best Friend and then his Fiance.
The story ends with Victor dying of exhaustion and hypothermia after telling his whole life story aboard a boat trying to reach the Arctic Circle where Victor had tried to pursue his Monster, but I like the alternate idea of an ending where the Monster figures out how to use Victor's technology to revive Victor out of spite so he's now just like his monster. The two of them hate each other but they are the only company they have now that they are both regarded as Monsters.
I imagine the Monster in this context is a Dracovish.
