Goblins are small nocturnal burrowing animals that tend to avoid Dragons and other larger creatures, although some of them have grown accustomed to living close to or in Dragon's settlements like Rats or Racoons; Hiding during the day and then coming out at night to try to scavenge through Dragon's scraps. They also have a fascination with shiny objects, some Dragons will overturn Goblin Burrows to see if they have any hidden treasure. They can be a good indicator that there are valuable resources like Gold in the area.
Goblins are typically too small for Dragons to consider much of a meal although some larger city dragons have claimed to seen giant fat Goblins in dark underground areas of the city, but Dragons typically would not want to eat a larger Goblin anyway as they are seen as disgusting vermin that probably carry diseases. It's probably for the bet not to handle them with your own claws, but in a healthy colony they are actually cleanly and engage in social grooming. However due to their burrowing and scavenging habits a lot of Dragon are known to kill a goblin if they see one, or kill colonies of Goblins found within civilization to stop them from tearing through buildings.
Their front claws are meant for digging and their secondary claws are more dexterous for climbing, grooming, and handling food.
