I'm a writer and a story-teller. It's immensely satisfying to be able to create whole worlds out of nothing but a moment's inspiration and bring them, and the people who live on them, to life on paper. I'm stuck up enough to think that our art-writing, painting, music-is where the true heart of our humanity is. Whether you create, or just enjoy the work of others, we are each shaped by the things we imagine and I feel lucky to have the measure of creativity that I do.

I don't think it's being stuck-up to think something like that, darling. In fact, I do believe you are very correct, as it is in artwork, of any kind, be it writing, making pictures, poetry, or music, or any other kind of artform, that the true inner self of a person comes out; they lay their heart and soul, their passion, the pain and pleasure they have experienced, into the art that is created, and much closer to real humanity, you can't get
Well, no, I don't really think I'm stuck up about it. Well, maybe a little. But I do think it's true that our art and our desire to design and create and capture our dreams is what makes us human. Even if someone never picks up pencil and paper in their lives, they're still part of it, and influenced by it the same way.
*giggles softly and winks*
Well, it's okay to be a little bit stuck up about it, what with being an artist yourself after all, and any excuse to feel good about yourself is a good excuse, yup! And you're absolutely right, even those that never create any sort of art are still in a way a part of it, because their lives, things they do, can influence an artist into making specific kinds of art, and likewise the art of others can influence the people who don't create art in many a sort of way. If a picture or a poem or a piece of prose makes even one person stop and think for a moment, that is already a little bit positive, and all those little bits of positive add up over time and make the world a bit of a better place

Awww. You keep that up and you'll make me blush for real! It really is a wonderful picture, I agree.
foxxian is one of those artists I've wanted to commission for forever, and she always does such a wonderful job with everything she does. Her art has a real sense of imagination to it, too, which is why I thought this was a perfect theme for her to draw. And yes, I'm always very impressed by those artists who can do art like this with only a few colors, or even just one!
