With sometime to myself, I have thought about this idea inspired by the "Mad Hatter" from BTAS. Wondering, what if he let go of Alice, rather than going mad for her. Leading to this fun adopt and writing down a character inspired by this AU idea. Enter Carol Ruth, AKA "The Mad Cheshire".

powers (Mad Cheshire): Teleportation, disappearing or reappearing at will, mischievous and misdirecting quotes to word play in fooling foes
Bio.
Carol Berra Ruth was a top baseball player for the "Dragonflies". Using high performance and endurance mushrooms giving by the teams' commission to play with stronger team player's due to Carol's smaller size. Giving him extra vitamins and minerals to go up against bigger anthros, while at the same time at an equal playing field.
Only acting normal but focused as being a professional batter without saying a word. However, he's very shy and nervous when left alone at the end of the game. And every infatuated with the local housekeeper at his apartment, Moë . Along with reading his fav escapist fantasy book suggested by Moë: Alice in wonderland. Carol also spends many times talking to himself and not having anything outside of his life or work, thus read the books to be in that world. Even saying quotes in the story as saying in rhymes and quotes that few people understood. Leading him to be insecure about himself or anyone wanting to go out with him. Not helping is his rival Allan Traz who picks on him for being on the rival team, the “midnight Howlers”. Hammering deeper into he's wonderland power fantasy. Leading to an overdose of the performance exotic mushrooms, becoming the “Mad Cheshire” .
As in this new look and persona, he's surprisingly had a sadistic, crazed and even a destructive disarray side to anyone who's a threatens to him. And don’t get me started on his kinks that are let’s say…disturbing. Who like in Alice in wonderland, can disappear in a puff of smoke, float, and turning invisible at will to fool with foes.
However, this chaotic cat can learn to control his wild impulses, to even let go of others for the sake of their happiness. Who can also be very sympathetic, but lonely and pines to impress his crush, Moë with this power. All in hope as the “Mad Cheshire" will make Moe love him. With the fox having a youthful sweet voice as being an innocent young man in finding him pretty funny. As Moe was the only one showing any love and kindness to Carol while cleaning his room, both as him and his Cheshire from. Even if the feline is fighting demons of lust and envy towards anyone finding Moe attractive. As Carol, he's still meek even with this power, thus admires Moe from afar of fear's he might hurt him. However, the feline sees the life he wants to have, he want's that chance and runs with it as "The Mad Cheshire". Trying to impress Moe with little word play and tricks. Yet when A-coasted by muggers, this evokes Cheshire's dark side and devours them whole trying to protect his fox crush. Much to the shock of Moe.
The next day once back to Carol and tries to apologize for what happened. With Moe's forgiveness is shorten after when the fox anthro Moe spurns his affection with a Bf proposal by another love and even promises of marriage by the fox’s love, Senkar. Who knowing of who Senkar is (a massive elephant anthro) Carol puts on a mask saying he’s "happy" for the news, but once alone, Carol just broke down and cried for his lost chance. Leading into a depressive slump in being in the friend zone as not competing with the big man of Senkar. Knowing keeping down, he can’t force to love in his power fantasy. And wanted to have true affections rather than just a soulless “love doll”. Leading to struggles with demons of self-gratification to ideas of tossing his life away or letting Moe go and grow. And not let possessiveness and rage of not being romantically rejected. Along with Senkar’s offering his help in talking with Carol in getting past rough times of a breakup.
Soon Carol respects Moe’s wishes and leaves him alone if it's needed. But still in good terms as being friends with the fox and elephant anthro. And still talking to him to help to give the feline emotional support to not feel alone. Expanding his support network to even Mart and Louis talking with him, so he won't feel isolated, as well as their superhero alter egos. Fat pride and Inflate-o-roo, even none other than Fraise des bois (Moe), enjoying a bit of crimefighting fun with the "Mad Cheshire". Still, Carol still stuffers of having loneliness and stress, and even social anxiety, luckily there less harsh than in the past with his network. Yet as his Carol's alter ego “The Mad Cheshire” he’s more than willing to help out stopping crooks. Even helping out Fat pride and Inflate of the next criminal activity as fighting alongside many heroes.
So overall, this Cheshire, may not be as MAD as he may seem.
