"This is one of the unique biomes present within the bottom layer of shellworld Vhisiola. While I simulate day and night cycles this far down with the artificial lights within the supporting grid structures above, the air is suffocatingly thick due to it stratifying. Particulate matter from the four layers further up settle in this bottom layer, worsened by carbon dioxide sinking into this layer. Due to that, specially adapted and symbiotic plants and fungi taken from varying places have been further adapted and seeded into this layer to take advantage of these conditions. One of the stable seeded regions have lead to mushroom towering as high as trees, with grass and shrubs scattered about. An inversion to mushroom forests if anything. "
"I've picked bioluminiscent fungi to seed this place with life. I've also made sure their spores aren't too harmful for most things that breathe. That said, you're likely going to choke the moment your own face is your own flashlight. Granted, my frame of reference is the kind of life that emerged from my homeworld. I'm sure I'm already accommodating sapient aliens in this layer. At least I have someone to appreciate what i've done in this comparatively unfriendly layer." - Terlynn
