I also find that they would have made quarians more 'alien', less humanoid; specially because they were also dextro, if humans were so different from Krogan and Salarian and species with a similar aminoacid base, then why quarians looked so 'human' apparently while being dextro since turians seemed so avian? It calls for a total lack of imagination
