It's time for our yearly three-day rave, Hex Furry Fest!
Hex Furry Fest is a weekend gathering of some of the best DJ talent from all across VRChat!
This year, we went straight to the moon, with FexDaFox, Hexagon Jack,
TekCastPork, and company constructing an entire moon base for us to explore, in between amazing DJ sets.
For my raving outfit, I added three patches, aside from my Hex Furry Fest badge: the patch of the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing, NASA, and the mission patch of STS-51-L, January 28, 1986, which if you know your history is known as the "Challenger Disaster." That mission resonates with me since my mother was a teacher and the same age as Christa McAuliffe during the incident. I found myself studying the incident before the Fest, so given the theme, I found it warranted to wear this badge as a reminder that while we strive to explore the unknown and embrace whatever challenges lie ahead of us, we must remember that those spearheading the pioneering efforts are still human, and exploration is never without risks.
