[Random] - Peanut-Headed Lantern Fly
I saw a prompt for 'Invert-ober' (as in Invertebrate Inktober) and while I absolutely got distracted from it in record time, like always, the very first one listed conjured this image to mind and I just had to draw it. I have no idea what it actually looks like, and don't want to. Mine's cuter. 😤

Very impressive.
On another note, I read about a reporter visiting Colombia who wrote an article about the insect in question. The article included a folktale that if you were bitten by the peanut-headed lanternfly, you would die in twenty-four hours unless you performed a sexual act in the interim. The folktale is rubbish of course- the lanternfly does not contain any venom at all-, but we just can’t seem to resist a tale that includes either death or fornication.
