If there were a company which offered total transformation into an anthropomorphic form, I imagine they would have to provide some kind of class or orientation session to help the clients become used to their new bodies. There are so many things which would be different than the way humans are used to doing them! On the other hand, what would it be like if someone skipped out on that class? Could you anticipate all the things you'd have to do differently or have to take care of to live as an anthro? This story follows Daniel, a recent customer of AnthroTech, skipping out on the orientation video he was supposed to see after his transformation into a snow leopard.
This piece was inspired by a conversation I had with my friend
christopherd. about skipping out on the lame training videos they make you watch at work, and what if there was a training video for being a furry? :3 The idea of the orientation video is also influenced by those old educational films they would show in grade school. I even remember them being shown on the reel-to-reel projectors! I'm not terribly old, so maybe it was just our broke-ass school that couldn't afford new technology... ANYWAY...yeah!

PS: AnthroTech is a real company. Figures. I'm still not changing the name in my story, though. I doubt it would be easy to confuse the services these two companies offer :P

Very interesting read. It actually covers a lot of things that are brought up in the countless "If You Could be an Anthro" topics I've seen, and the switching perspectives between the instructional video and David's experiences in contrast was a nice touch. Just goes to show you never want to skip out on tutorials when trying something new, or in this case, making a life-changing decision.
Also, speaking of training videos for the workplace, some of them, from what I've seen, can actually be entertaining in a weird sort of way, or at least have a few parts that are chuckle worthy.
And AnthroTech is an existing company name? Huh, makes me wonder what they produce. lol

Landrav, you outdid your self again. I love it. Im glad we had that conversation and that you came up with this idea. Certainly was not what i was going to put in the training session. Im also glad you were so hopped up on coffie last night or maybe this story might not of been written.
Im also jelous because your writing style is easy to read and polished. It reads like my scifi books im so fond of. Good work.

Very nice little story ^^ Informative and funny. Its a very interesting concept, and I think I'd definitely go for it, turning anthro. It reminds me of a book series called Uglies, where body mods of all kinds (including animal features) are very real. I can't wait to see what science comes up with in our lifetime.
