krystal is common in the south-east united states! I have had cousins in Tennessee and Florida so I passed many Krystal locations during long car trips. I thought it was a convenience store but it turns out to be a [acknowledged] White Castle ripoff from 1932 (thereby predating the first McDonald's by eight years). I didn't know what the hamburgers looked like until I sought a picture of one for this drawing. I may have exaggerated the size of it.
the apparent ketchup I had not noticed but now I have added some intentional ketchup since I can imply more easily than properly studying a hamburger reference to make anything else look correct.

that was part of my excuse, but I only retained the yellow garb with boots, and then I added sleeves! The proportions and extra hair are more like the other design.

I don't know if Krystal sells normal sized hamburgers. This one looks too big for a Krystal Burger. Or maybe she's really small.
I have eaten there a couple of times. It's not great. The fact that they let dopes in tells you all you need to know.

indeed the hamburger I briefly used for reference was not shown beside other objects so I did not realize how small it was supposed to be initially! Later it did not register as adequately important to put at proper scale.
Not only that, I also realized late that the building i was tracing for the background did not have the ground in view so i only could guess at where it should be positioned and what I should put underneath it. it probably should have gone even further upward in the composition but I wanted the sign to be in view without extending the "canvas." And the sign is not actually from that building! The real structure had a rectangular sign but i preferred the circular style. This scene is packed with deception! Hopefully the dope isn't real either but that might be asking for too much.

No doubt they did that on purpose.

Well imo more Krystal art is always good, so I say to hell with what the you-from-2004 thinks!

There's still time to see whether she actually gets to enjoy that.
