You're welcome :D I was being a bit vague though XD low opacity and flow settings, Colour Dodge, a tablet helps. If you draw in the base colour first, then colour dodge the base with the same colour for highlights or shines (that you'd find on glass/plastic light casings), then use a larger, super soft brush to get the glow, you can then mix up Overlay and Colour Dodge brush blend modes to achieve different effects. In the 3 pictures I've submitted for this, all of these techniques were used.
In some cases, highlighting can just be done with Colour Dodge along edges. Some people feel Colour Dodge is a cheat but if you learn how to use it then it's a very powerful tool for creating realistic looking environments.
