Fox getting in the pond of water lilies

this is an oil painting I just finished!
Done in canvas, I wanted to have my fursona coming into water, somehow. Tried to play a bit with the water effect below him. Also wanted tomake the lilies pond very abstract in a way, so didn't spend too much detail on each small flower :P

i believe this painting is more about an impression of a moment, where the fox figure sits still there, in a very quiet mood, almost trying to blend himself with the environment. The red stands out though .

very proud of this one. I'm planning on maybe taking it to MFF's artshow this year!

ooh sweet! I always try to get people into it! Its so valuable to have traditional media, things just work different : pictures come alive and suddenly have a different meaning than the computer things, don't know why XD

Have tryed both Acrylic and Oil and i must say Oil paintings SMELL. I keep a fan handy during drawing or i get a headache. :P

hahaha well yeah oils do have a presence, and their mediums are also very strong . There are some solutions that have very little odor and help you with headaches or painting in a small space though!

Yeahh... i used tepentine to clean and need to keep the lid close. And teh window open. But Oils are sooo good to color with.

Insanely beautiful painting, the way the water looks like it could flow out of the canvas, the warmth of the sun hitting his fur. I cannot get over how amazing this looks, splendid job!
