I don't normally post this late if it isn't my own drawings, but considering the time of day this moment happened, it seems pretty fitting.
One thing about Leader that besides being the kind of Succubus that likes to be in animal forms for humans, she DOES NOT like unnecessary trouble unless she's the one that's taking that risk and absolutely hates it when others cause trouble for her without her permission. So she really is angry at Meri for making a mess of things for her and because what Leader is doing is so unique, it's really hard to coordinate everyone to do her jobs. Even if they do happen in a bi-weekly basis, when one of the Succubi or Incubi goes missing, it really throws a wrench into her plans. Leader is lucky enough as it is to get so many Succubi and Incubi to do join her in what essentially a side-gig for most of them and she knows it. That's why she's so upset at Meri causing the guy who played Slade for her to leave.
Leader makes sure that her business runs on a tight ship so nothing troubling should happen even if the demons in her employment ended up having other plans that come up in the last day. Though that's technically the reason you should keep things up to date, even to the last second as she learned just now of one her boys leaving. Anyway, she tries to make sure that her customers get what they asked for in whatever price they settled on and make sure every demon gets their even paycheck. That's the other part of the problem that Leader didn't explain to Meri here in the comic besides the customer overpaying, the uneven distribution of the payment might cause problems with the rest of the pack thinking that she's either playing favorites or being too greedy, which will also cause a bunch of unnecessary fighting, that's quite frankly, way too much of a hassle to sort out.
With everyone else doing their own things, even for Pack Leaders like Queen and Alpha, it's pretty hard to try to find another Incubus who shares the same desires as the rest of Leader's Pack. Sure, Leader could've asked someone to abandon their plan for her Hunts, but she doesn't want to be seen as even more unreasonable than she already is (you can definitely go further than being a talking dog), which may cause her to lose members of her pack because of her. This is also another thing that can actually slow her Hunt Business down by a significant amount that she really tries hard to avoid this moment being something that happens because of her and someone else that she knows.
So yeah, getting a bad rep for being known as a scammer and being the one to cause infighting, are those two things that can hurt Leader's business in the long run, which is why she's pretty mad at Meri. As anyone who causes these possibilities to become very close to reality, is going to get on her bad side really quickly and must take responsibility almost immediately. But it's because she knows Meri enough that what we're seeing in this comic, is Leader actually holding back on what she would've done with Meri. Especially with a certain brand new power that's been welling up within her thanks to Meri's boyfriend that she probably wouldn't hesitate to use on anyone else.
Leader expected Meri to try to do the impossible of finding a replacement on such short notice, but it seems like she came up with a pretty good idea that may work out on the end. However, Leader still has plans to punish her in her own way but at least it won't be as bad as what she was thinking of doing when she first confronted her about this.
It's kinda funny that I'm saying that Meri did a Fleet thing when it's actually a regular thing among reckless heroes like Fleet. But the reason I'm saying this is because Fleet has a backstory of doing this alot when trying to be the heroine of Julesvale in her opening game. From what it's said in her backstory, Fleet causing more problems with her recklessness than helping seems to be happen ALOT more than the rest of the heroes who have this problem. Not sure Meri would actually want to overtake Fleet in that aspect, but she's too obsessed with her at this point to see that. At least Meri's sense of responsibility hasn't gone away though as she'll learn in this night about how badly she could've screwed things up with everyone and how lucky she is in how she'll impress Leader by that night's end about how much she's grown since Leader "set" me and her up with her game.
