During one lazy afternoon, two best friends express their mutual appreciation for each other.

Significant Appreciation

Jason and Harley have known each other for years. The two have developed quite a friendship since they met, often sticking with each other. But a few months into their friendship, the pair took things a step further.

One particular Sunday afternoon, Jason and Harley are lazily swinging in a hammock cuddling each other. While Jason is fully tucked away inside the net, Harley has her leg dangling, keeping the soft momentum going.

For a time, there is just silence with the male canine and female dalmatian nestled against each other, reveling in each other's scent. Suddenly, Jason raises up, breaking the silence between the two.

“Harley,” Jason began softly, “for the past few years that we’ve known each other, you're a great friend and always have been ever since. I love that about you; you never let appearances cloud your judgment.”

Harley agrees likewise, recalling, “I can say the same about you, Jason. Even though you're a mixed breed doggy, you're still a handsome guy regardless. Still, the way you conduct yourself is admirable.”

“I appreciate the compliment, Harley. You're one of the most amazing people I have ever met.” Jason stated graciously. He nuzzles Harley and adds, “I couldn't have asked for a better person.”

Harley giggles and nuzzles Jason in return, claiming, “Well you certainly are the best person I’ve ever had around me for a long time. And you're not one of those types of guys who would go for a fling and then leave.”

“Why would I?” Jason chortled in mild surprise. “It's not like I’m looking for a quick fix or anything.”

“Still, it's nice having you around, Jason. It really means a lot to me.” Harley commented further, resting her head on Jason's shoulder.

“Yeah.” Jason breathed, “same here.”

The pair stay snuggled against each other in their hammock for the remainder of the afternoon when Harley suddenly raises up and climbs out of the hammock. When Jason notices and inquires of this, Harley beckons him, “It's getting late, Jason. We should head inside right now.”

Paying head to his significant other, Jason follows suit and joins Harley on the small trek back inside of their cozy abode. They later share a meal and end their day with a movie before retiring for the night, getting ready for the next day.
