> Story
^ At one point, a group of salmon ancestors, among which by chance there were several bluish hybrids, swam to an island which was far away from the mainland. However, before they could get out to the open sea again, a landslide blocked the only large river leading into the island, thus locking the group of fish in the lake. After some time, there was naturally not enough food for everyone and the fish were forced to adapt to life on land (and those who could not - simply died).
Having become amphibians, these creatures, which could already be called salmon with a big stretch, quickly evolved and became the dominant species on the island, from which, however, they could not get out because the ability to move through water for a long time was lost in the process of evolution. As a result of sexual selection, the species acquired a characteristic blue hue with a red and green shimmer(as, for example, birds of paradise acquired it) and for many centuries it remained in this form, becoming only more beautiful.
But paradise, unfortunately, never lasts forever, and one day intelligent bipedal creatures appeared on the island, and along with them the invasive species they brought, quickly subduing the entire ecosystem. The salmon lost most of their clutches of eggs and gradually began dying out. Their population began to decline sharply, and by the time the bipeds came to their senses and realized that, only one single representative of the entire species of stunningly beautiful animals remained alive.
It was carefully delivered to the mainland, where, due to the stupidity of that same bipeds, it was placed in a too flimsy enclosure, from which the last blue salmon safely escaped and got lost in the nearby forests. The bipeds happily didn't give a damn about this, noting in the papers that the animal died and was cremated.

Now, far from civilization, the beast lives out its life peacefully without a chance to continue its race. Being a living killing machine compared to the local predators, he quickly grabbed a huge territory for himself and spends days and nights there, hunting mostly for fun, and terrorizing the local forester, dragging his prey from under his nose and playfully running with it from him. After playing, he returns it to him, leaving the loot on the threshold of the hut by dawn the next day.
