Yeah I never would've that of that had you not mentioned it. Actually figuring out how to go about drawing something this complex could be a lot more difficult in some respects.
What did you have to learn when going at a commission like this? I mean, how the hell do you even plan something like this out?

Its mostly alot of on the fly study, like armor (as this is like my first attempt at armor in general). Many many references, this is heavily based off of Hoslow's set in Elden ring. I did take a few personal liberties just due to a lack of quality references. I tried to go at it with my usual lineart first which just flat out not working and ended up being more frustrating and time consuming so I had to move onto full on painting it instead. So the only part of this that has actual "lineart" is the head and hair. Theres a ton more jargin I could throw in about the whole process but this would be a many page long response and I wont bombard you with the info dump lol
For something that is new to you and involved on the fly studying I've got to say you aced it. I can see why lineart wouldn't work out. Especially because in a piece like this it's the different shading values that highlight the armors engraving. Liberties are a given on something like this but from what I can see they worked out great because this looks flawless.
I wouldn't mind a multi-page long response, I like hearing about the creative and drawing processes of my favourite artists. But then again, I don't expect you to do that (I'm thinking a few years back to high school science classes. Doing the labs were fun, but the multi-page lab reports were terrible).

Thats all so nice to hear :') thank you! Im often so overly critical of my own work its nice to hear outside thoughts and perspectives.
Don't tempt me on the multi page long response XD Ill definitely do it, I love to blab about art and would definitely write a thesis length ramble paper. (# not an ad, but I do have a channel in my server where I do art blab occasionally)
