Kathraag had been curious about the extent of Cyra's magic powers and abilities, and since she couldn't actually tell him much, he had decided to simply put it to the test.
Cyra is not a well-trained mage due to her past, and 'just try it' has been pretty much all of what she has been doing with her magic all her life.
So, she agreed.
They met at a gun testing range, Kathraag bringing with him an ancient Flame Legion pattern rifle.
Cyra was hesitant about it, not exactly being a firearms expert... but with Kathraag at her side, she received enough explanations to give it her best shot.

Neither of the two had expected the outcome.
The rifle's bullet melted into a lava-flaming heat core as it left the rifle, igniting the air as it flew.
it punched a hole straight through the wooden target.
And the entire hill behind it, coming out the other side.

While it was still raining incandescent shards and rocks, Cyra decided magic and firearms make an awesome combo in her hands.
Kathraag, having ducked behind the barrier the two had stood behind, tended more towards considering it terrifying.
Terrifyingly effective, that is.
But he'd be increasing the safety distance for future experiments of this kind...
