For Day 2 of Monster Month, since I opened the challenge with pokemon, I decided to draw the series most consistently tied to pokemon- Digimon. I never understood why some people thought of pokemon and digimon as "You can only like one" since I've always enjoyed both series. Assuming it counts as one, Digimon was probably my first isekai anime, I loved watching Tai and his friends explore the digital world and get into all kinds of trouble, and I greatly anticipated seeing what awesome creatures the digimon would digivolve into. Digimon was darker than pokemon in some respects though, not only were there a number of times where characters were killed off (mostly Leomons much to my sadness), bur they showed the consequences of digivolution through force and hatred instead of love and a desire to protect in scenes such as Agumon turning into SkullGreymon, or Guilmon turning into Megidramon, so the series made it clear- Digimon weren't just tools for their tamers to use, they were your confidant, and it was important to treat them how you'd want to be treated, and on a much lighter note the opening theme was a bop.
