Dungeons & Dragons have some of the most nightmarish monster designs I have ever seen, particularly when it comes to creatures that can disguise or camouflage themselves to their environment; like the Mimic for example (which I drew last year). The Roper can appear as normal stalactites or stalagmites in caves, allowing unsuspecting prey to draw close before unleashing their tentacles to ensnare and consume.
I loved drawing this, and you can be sure this won't be the last time I look to D&D for inspiration about what to draw next! Plenty more nightmare fuel incoming!
